hey, I'm Emily!
I’m a biomedical engineering student at the University of Waterloo, within the systems design department. Most recently, I worked as an opto-mechanical engineering intern at Vena Medical and a biomedical engineering intern at Kardium. My background also includes some experience in UX design, though I recently have been drawn to exploring more hardware, mechanical design and R&D. I definitely consider myself a problem solver at heart and am always looking for ways to challenge my mind or create something with my hands.
I was also extremely fortunate to do an exchange term in Spain, where I was able to immerse myself in different cultures and traditions not only from the local students, but also by meeting other international students.
check out some of my passions, creations, hobbies and interests below

After wearing down my favorite pair of pants, I decided to turn it into a tote bag & have sewed many other projects since 🪡🧵

No matter if its the form of a cream-filled pastry, a latte, or ice-cream, I'm always looking for a new matcha treat to try 😋🍵
